Harold Talley, 81, of McNeil, AR died Thursday, September 6, 2018 at the Arkansas Nursing and Rehabilitation in Texarkana, AR.
Harold was born on November 5, 1936 in Magnolia, AR to the late Samuel Aubrey and Lucille (Johnson) Talley. He was a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church in Waldo, AR and worked as a Press Operator at Alcoa. He liked raising a garden every year. When he raised cows he named each of them and talked to them like they would listen to him. When he worked at the aluminum plant he was nicknamed “Lighting” because of how slow he would walk. He loved his little Boston terrier, “Lil Bit”, she was his buddy and he was hers.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents; wife Julia Ann Talley; two granddaughters, Kaci Lashay Talley and Tiffany Brooke Talley; and sister Elaine Bliss.
He is survived by his sons, Artie Talley of McNeil, AR and Larry Talley and wife Teresa of McNeil, AR; sister Linda Talley of Springhill, LA; brother and sister in law, Joe and Pat Looney of Dekalb, TX; sister-in-law Billie Clark of Texarkana, TX; brother-in-law Rodney Griffis of Booneville, AR; numerous nieces and nephews; dog Lil Bit of McNeil, AR; and grandpuppy Scooter of McNeil, AR.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Shiloh Baptist Church with Bro. Myles Evans and Bro. Mike Launius officiating. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Lamartine Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR. Visitation will be from 1- 2 p.m. at the Shiloh Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be John Paul Edington, Stanley Murphy, Joe Don Nix, John Henry, Glen Brasher, and Cody Murphy.
