MJHS Cubs pound Hot Springs twice Thursday night

Magnolia rolled over Hot Springs twice in junior high football action Thursday night at Panther Stadium.

The freshmen pounded the Trojans 55-20, while the 8th graders cruised to a 48-22 victory.

For the freshmen, DeRaylen Williams scored on runs of 10,66, 68 and 80 yards. Colby Garland threw a 53-yard TD pass to Kemarion Adams and a 12-yarder to Marcus Snider, while returning an interception 70 yards for a score. Jay Todd Baker connected on all PATs.

For the 8th graders, Garrion Curry scored on runs of 12, 26, 49 and 61 yards. Jacob Hebert returned a kickoff 80 yards for a score; Devin Dunn scored from 46 yards out; and Amarion Stevenson recovered a fumble.

The Cubs’ final game will be at home on Oct. 25.
