IRENE BRANNON

Irene Brannon, 90, formerly of Magnolia, died Friday, November 3, 2017, in San Antonio, Texas. Mrs. Brannon was born August 19, 1927, in Lewisville. She was the daughter of the late Miles and the late Rebecca Wilson. She married the late Alvin Louis Brannon.

Mrs. Brannon began her professional career as a fourth grade teacher at Foster Elementary in Lewisville and later became the librarian at Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.

She is survived by sons Ronnie Louis Brannon and Marcus Wayne Brannon, and daughter Pamela Brannon-Stewart, all of San Antonio; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers Miles Wilson of Charlotte, N.C., and James Wilson of Little Rock; and sisters Willie Johnson of Little Rock and Juanita Williams of St. Louis, Mo.

The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 11, at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Magnolia under the direction of Henderson Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Old Town Cemetery in Lewisville.

Visitation will be Friday, November 10, 12 noon-4 p.m. at Henderson’s Mortuary in Magnolia.
