POLICE REPORTS for Thursday

The Magnolia Police Department reports the following arrests:

•James Michael Brown, 29, of Willisville and Lindsey Blair McWilliams, 26, of Magnolia were both arrested Jan. 10 in connection with a residential burglary in Magnolia.

According to the police report, on Jan. 3 MPD began an investigation into a reported residential burglary with property taken from a home on N. Jackson St. Investigation found the home had been broken into more than one time during the week prior to the discovery of the burglary. According to the report, the victims suffered property damage as well as the loss of personal property.

During the investigation, Brown and McWilliams were identified as suspects. Warrants for arrest were issued for forgery second degree with $25,000 bond for the two suspects in connection to the burglary. On Jan. 10, both suspects were arrested in Magnolia based on the warrants. Continued investigation of the incident led to further charges. Both Brown and McWilliams were charged with residential burglary and theft of property over $5,000. According to the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office website as of this morning, both remain in the Columbia County Detention Facility.

MPD was assisted by CCSO and the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission during this investigation and arrest of the suspects.

•Christopher Lee, 36, of Magnolia was arrested Jan. 10 for driving while intoxicated and possession of drug paraphernalia. According to the report, on Jan. 10 officers responded to a call where it was reported that Lee was passed out in his vehicle. When officers arrived on scene, they found Lee asleep and appearing to be under the influence of narcotics. During the investigation, officers also found drug paraphernalia in his vehicle. He was released from jail Jan. 11.

•On Jan. 7 at approximately 11:18 a.m., MPD were dispatched to a disturbance on MacArthur Circle involving weapons. Once on scene, the victim and suspect were both identified and officers began an investigation into the incident. The report stated the victim reported being confronted by the suspect, who was angry at him. The suspect then reportedly used a knife in an attempt to cause the victim injury. The suspect, Kokiesha Armstrong, 19, of Magnolia, was arrested for aggravated assault and placed in the county jail. A first appearance hearing was held Jan. 9, and her bond was set at $2,500. She was released from jail Jan. 11.

•Kenneth Calvin Page, 27, of Mississippi was arrested Dec. 30, 2016, for theft by receiving over $5,000, driving while intoxicated, and fleeing. According to the report, officers responded to a reported reckless driver. When officers located the vehicle, which was driven by Page, they attempted to pull him over and he fled. After officers were able to take Page into custody, they discovered that the vehicle was reported to be stolen from El Dorado. His bond was set at $50,000. He remains in jail as of this morning.

The Magnolia Fire Department responded to two fires this morning.

•Firemen were called to Wentworth Place at 26 Warnock Springs Rd. at 5:30 a.m. According to the report, this was a smoke call only.

•Shortly before 8:30 a.m., firemen responded to a fire at the apartments on Dudney St. According to the report, the fire was in an upstairs bedroom, and minor smoke damage was sustained. No injuries were reported.

The Columbia County Sheriff’s Office reports no arrests or incidents today.
