The annual Area 15 Special Olympics Polar Plunge will be held at the SAU Armory Pond. Registration is at 11:30 a.m., with the plunge at 12 noon and awards ceremony immediately following. The Magnolia-Columbia County Literacy Council annual fundraiser will be from 5:30-8 p.m. at the Magnolia Jr. High School Cafeteria. The meal will be catered by Marlar’s Cafeteria. Plates will include grilled chicken breast, special green beans, hashbrown casserole, roll, and dessert. Drinks (sweet/unsweet tea or lemonade) will be available for dine-in customers only. Tickets are $10 per plate.

Harvest Regional Food Bank’s mobile food pantry will distribute United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) commodities Wednesday, March 22, from 10 a.m.-12 noon at 205 Thomas St. in Stamps (the old SWADC Senior Citizens Center).
FRIDAY - March 24
An abandoned pesticide program will be from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the parking lot of the C.W. Easter Center, 902 E. McKissack St. in Waldo. Persons can bring chemicals, pesticides, and other such products for safe disposal.
SATURDAY - March 25
The Magnolia Masons will hold a fish fry from 4-7 p.m. at 302 W. Stadium in Magnolia. This will include “all you can eat” fried catfish with all the trimmings. Carry-outs are available. Tickets are $12 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under. Proceeds will support Arkansas Children’s Hospital, Relay for Life, CCAPS, Compassion’s Foundation, and local needy families.
