The Magnolia Lady Panthers won the Class 5A State Track Championship for the third consecutive year Tuesday after winning the 2016 event in Hot Springs. The Lady Panthers also won the titles in 2014 and 2015.

HOT SPRINGS - The Magnolia Lady Panthers successfully defended their Class 5A state track title, while the Panthers were unable to repeat.

The teams were among 24 schools to compete in the yearly championships at Reese Memorial Stadium on the Hot Springs High School campus.

The Lady Panthers, winning the state crown for the past three years, piled up 95 points, ahead of second-place Maumelle (73).

The Panthers finished fourth, behind first-place Forrest City (107), second-place Vilonia (82) and third place De Queen (69).

Senior Briana Hardiman, who will be attending Arkansas State University next fall, paced the Lady Panthers.

She took first place in the long jump, 100m and 200m. Hardiman placed third in the triple jump and anchored the 4x100m relay team that finished second.

Chassidy Jermany took first-place honor in the triple jump.

Other team scores from the girls' division included Vilonia (67 1/2), Little Rock Christian (54), Camden Fairview (46), Batesville (42), Sylvan Hills, (35), Harrison (31 1/2), Valley View (31), White Hall (28), Nettleton (28), Forrest City (23), De Queen (18), Beebe (17), Hope (16), Blytheville (10), Hot Springs Lakeside (10), Wynne (9), Greenbrier (8), Watson Chapel (7), Mills (7), Hot Springs (4), Jacksonville (2), Greene County Tech (1).
