MYRA HARVEY

Funeral services for Myra Jane Culland Harvey, 84, will be at 2 p.m. today at Bailey Funeral Home Chapel in Springhill, La., with Rev. Richard Hamlin and Rev. Marvin Jennings officiating. Burial will follow in Sharman Cemetery at Taylor, under the direction of Bailey Funeral Home of Springhill.

Mrs. Harvey was born Jan. 2, 1931 to Tommie and Eula Bea Kendricks Culland in Taylor. She passed away Thursday, March 12, 2015, in Little Rock following a lengthy illness.

She married George Harvey on June 23, 1948 and they made their home on the family property in Taylor. She was a homemaker and loved fishing and nature. She still got excited to see deer outside her kitchen window or standing beside the road. She loved spending time with her daughter and grandchildren. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Taylor and the Women’s Auxiliary of the Taylor VFW. Myra was a graduate of Walker Creek High School.

Myra is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Wayne Culland; and sister, Johnnie Mae Culland Cheatham.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, George Harvey; daughter, Diane Harvey Craig and husband Michael of White Hall; two grandsons, Tim Craig and wife Shannon of Little Rock and Chris Craig of Fayetteville; great-grandchildren, Riley and Reese Craig of Little Rock; sisters-in-law, Maude Harvey Jennings, Paula Harvey, and Margaret Culland, and brothers-in-law, Eugene Hamlin and Thomas “Clell” Jones, all of Taylor; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Jones, Gammye Moore, Bill Orrick, Ricky Barnard, Bart Emerson, and Mike Whitehead.
