Magnolia’s Colby Garland plays tight defense on a Monticello Billie. Coach Dyun Long said his Panthers will have to provided some solid and aggressive defense tonight when they host the Camden Fairview Cardinals in a key 4A South Region 8 Conference game at Panther Arena. Both teams are unbeaten in league play and the winner takes over sole possession. Magnolia defeated Camden Fairview 68-55 in their tournament last month, but Long said the Cardinals did shoot the ball well. A junior varsity boys’ game will begin at 5 p.m., followed by the Lady Panthers and Lady Cardinals. The Lady Panthers are looking get back into a tie for first place in the conference race, while the Lady Cardinals are looking to remain unbeaten in league play and alone at the top. Following girls’ game, the Panthers and Cardinals will play the third contest.
