LAURA W. HUNTER

Laura Westbrook Hunter, 93, of Magnolia, AR died Sunday, September 9, 2018 at the Cornerstone Nursing Center in Texarkana, TX.

Laura was born November 4, 1924 in Magnolia. She was a lifelong resident of Magnolia and was a homemaker and farmer. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church and Magnolia Riding Club. She was a Girl Scout Troop leader and Day Camp director. Her family was awarded the Columbia County Farm Family of the Year.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents Lee Newton and Laura Eudora (Cheatham) Westbrook; husband Linvell Hunter; brothers Hudson and Robert Westbrook. She is survived by her daughters Linda Hunter of Magnolia, Shirley Black and husband Ralph of Waldo, and Dianne Gentry and husband John of Magnolia; grandson William Gentry and wife Jenny of Texarkana; great granddaughter Abigail Gentry of Texarkana; many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 13, 2018 beginning at 12:30 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1:30 p. m. at Lewis Funeral Home Chapel in Magnolia with Bro. Steve Ford officiating. Burial will be at the Magnolia City Cemetery.

Honorary pallbearers will be Kenny Burgess, Gary Bearden, Doug Bearden, Wade Bearden, and Craig Westbrook.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Central Baptist Church, 207 West Union St., Magnolia, AR 71754.
