Experimenting in the garden

Master Gardeners and University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service agents Tuesday morning remove diseased bushes from a section of Cecil Taylor Wilson Garden in downtown Magnolia. The corridor will be replaced by new test species to gauge their sustainability in the region as part of an ongoing national trial program. Included in the new plantings will be two variations of ornamental cabbage, two breeds of Pansies, two Violas, and two hybrid Piolas. Pictured (L-R) are Ag Agent Jerri Lephiew and Master Gardeners Don Williams, Bob Cook, and Merilyn Jones. Not pictured is Master Gardener Sue Cook.
