A Friday morning sign at W. Main Street's Chick-a-Dilly indicates the restaurant is closed "until" after a fryer fire incident Thursday.

The Magnolia Fire Department (MFD) on Thursday responded to not one, but two Main Street incidents at separate local fried chicken restaurants.

According to MFD, a call was placed at 8:57 a.m. Nov. 15 at 1509 E. Main Street’s Kentucky Fried Chicken. The vent hood, an agency official said, was not properly venting the building, causing the restaurant to fill with smoke.

The department was on the scene for approximately 20 minutes, and was able to clear the building of any smoke buildup. There was no fire or damage, according to MFD.

The restaurant was temporarily closed Thursday, but, as of Friday morning, the business is now open and operational once again.

A second call to the local fire department came Thursday evening, at 5:31 p.m., when an incident at the 416 W. Main Street Chick-a-Dilly was reported. The report was due to a fryer fire, MFD said.

Firemen were on the scene at the restaurant for approximately 20 minutes. The agency reports no significant damage to the building, but the business was temporarily closed and remained so, as of Friday morning.

No MFD calls were placed Thursday from any other restaurant, business, or home in Magnolia, according to the department.

Update:

Both business are back open and operating as normal, as of Friday afternoon.
