The National Collegiate Athletic Association announced the participants for the upcoming 2018 Division II Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Charlotte, NC, and among the 377 selected female athletes are Southern Arkansas senior Lady Muleriders Kenisha Bryant and T’Keyah Crockett.

Named All-Central Region performers on Monday, Bryant and Crockett head to the DII National Championships after producing outstanding campaigns for the Lady Muleriders in 2018.

Bryant makes a return trip to compete at the DII Championships, while Tuesday’s announcement sends Crockett to the division’s biggest stage for the first time in her career.

Bryant, an All-GAC First-Team performer this season in the 400 Meter Hurdles, posted Division II’s 13th-fastest time in the event this spring as she registered an altitude-adjusted time of 1:00.16 at the West Texas A&M “Last Chance” meet during the final day of qualifying. The time broke her previous program record in the event and bettered her provisional qualifying standard.

In her final spring for the Lady Muleriders, Bryant posted seven individual top five performances and logged a pair of 400 Meter Hurdle event wins.

Bryant competes in the 400m hurdle prelims at 7:55 p.m. on Thursday, May 24, and if she advances will compete in the finals of the event on Saturday, May 26, at 5:40 p.m.

Bryant is one of 21 hurdlers that will compete for the individual National Title in the event.

Crockett, a 2018 All-GAC First-Team performer in the discus throw, recorded the country’s 13th-longest discus throw mark this season with a toss of 161 feet, 5 inches at the West Texas A&M “Last Chance” meet. The mark was nine feet further than her previous program best and it also improved her provisional standing in the event.

In the field this season, Crockett has dominated the discus throw event as she has registered top five finishes in all 10 of the discus events that she entered. Of those 10 showings, Crockett claimed the individual title five times, including the event crown at the Great American Conference Championships.

Crockett competes in the Discus Throw finals at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 26. Crockett will be one of 24 throwers to compete for the individual National Championship in the event.

The championships will be held at the Irwin Belk Complex. Johnson C. Smith University will serve as the host of the championships. The championships will be streamed live on www.NCAA.com each day.
