SAU infielder Monica Islava throws an out during the Lady Muleriders’ Central Region Tournament victory on Saturday. SAU (55-9) will host an NCAA Division Super Regional series starting Thursday at Dawson Field and is scheduled to take on Minnesota-Duluth (44-14) at 6 p.m. The teams’ second game will be at 2 p.m. Friday and a third contest (if necessary) will be at 4:30 p.m. Friday. The winners of Super Regionals (best of three series involving 16 teams at eight sites) will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championships for May 24-28 at the Moyer Sports Complex in Salem, VA. In 2016, the Lady Muleriders won 53 games en route to the program’s first appearance in the World Series.
