Two arrested after Hilltop Street armed burglary

Two Magnolia residents have been arrested in connection with a Jan. 7 armed robbery and burglary on Hilltop Street. According to a police statement, the incident occurred just before 2 p.m. Sunday. Multiple victims reported that crimes occurred both inside and outside the residence.

Upon investigation, MPD officers identified Magnolia man Roderick Ellis, 31, and a 16-year-old juvenile, also of Magnolia, as suspects. A warrant was issued, and both were taken into police custody Tuesday, Jan. 9. Each individual has been charged with aggravated robbery and aggravated residential robbery. Further charges are said to be pending. Both of the accused are awaiting a first appearance before a judge as of Thursday afternoon.
