St. James Episcopal Church, Columbia and Highland in Magnolia, continues a six-week series studying The Message of the Book of Revelation, led by author Fr. Chuck Chapman, Vicar of St. James. The study begins at 5:30 p.m. in the Parish Hall. A simple soup supper is included at no charge. Fr. Chapman’s approach is that of modern biblical scholars, looking at the book of Revelation from a first century perspective and asking, “What does it mean for us today?” All are welcome.

SATURDAY - Feb. 24

Elem CME Church of Emerson will hold the 29th celebration of E.I.C. Choir at 6 p.m. Everyone is invited.

SUNDAY - Feb. 25

Bethany Missionary Baptist Church of McNeil will hold a Black History Program at 2:30 p.m. Guest speaker will be Carolyn Williams, Curator and Director of the Quilted History Museum in El Dorado.

The Bethlehem Baptist Church Youth Department will present the 14th annual African-American History Celebration of Youth: Remembering Our Heritage event at 2:30 p.m. in the Grand Hall of SAU Reynolds Center. Several high school seniors will speak, along with performances from SAU student Miguel Johnson, 5-year-old Karrington Davis and the Rising Starz Dance Team. The event is free to the public and co-sponsored by Albemarle Foundation, Columbia County Community Foundation, SAU Office of Multicultural Services and CSNS Fashion. There will be refreshments. High school seniors still wanting to participate can still do by contacting Bethlehem Youth Director Chris Gilliam at 870-299-0999.

Nokomas Rodger of Quince Church of Christ in Memphis, Tenn.
