DON MARSHALL

Everett Donald “Don” Marshall, 86, of Magnolia passed away Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Wentworth Place in Magnolia.

Don was born on January 6, 1932, in Philadelphia, Miss., to Earl Marshall and Fannie (Burchfield) Marshall. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and retired from Southern Arkansas University as a Media Instructor. He served his county in the United States Army.

Don enjoyed many years of going to “The Land,” where he hunted and rode his 4-wheeler. He spent many days getting ready for the first day of deer season. He liked working on his yard seeing how many more azaleas and dogwood trees he could plant. He had a garden for years in which enjoyed sharing his produce with others. He spent a lot of precious time with his granddaughters, Rachel and Katie.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; son Grant Marshall; and sister Zimmie Dee Witters.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Katie Marshall of Magnolia; daughter Donna Sanders of Magnolia; granddaughters Rachael Sanders of Little Rock and Katie Murphy and husband Tanner of Jonesboro; sister Lydia Davis of Philadelphia, Miss.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Saturday, February 17, at Lewis Funeral Home followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. with Bro Steve Ford officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home in Magnolia.
