Sid Cawyer moved to Columbia County in 1982 as the Kmart Store Manager. After living in several communities in four states, he found Columbia County the perfect place to call home and raise his family. In 1985 the corporation was going to move him to a new location and he decided to leave Kmart and pursue other career options, so he could stay in Columbia County. He became the production manager for Porterco Inc. and remained there until the company was sold and closed by the new owner. Then Cawyer attended real estate and appraisal school. He began working in the mass appraisal field and appraised all the real estate for Columbia County until his retirement in 2017 from Total Assessment Solutions Corporation.
Sid is a member of First United Methodist Church in Magnolia and is married to Sandra Cawyer. He raised five children who all graduated from Magnolia Public Schools. Three are graduates of Southern Arkansas University.
“I have spent years driving every mile of Columbia County and speaking with many taxpayers,” Cawyer said. “With my experience in management, budgets, and knowledge of our county, I believe I can help our citizens with their questions and concerns.”
