SAU Sports Information

The Southern Arkansas Muleriders are set to enter into the final stretch run of their regular season schedule as they prepare for five GAC contests over the next 10 days.

Action begins tonight when they and the Lady Muleriders host Arkansas Tech at the W.T. Watson Athletic Center.

The women's game will tip off at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's contest at 7:30 p.m.

SAU will play at Harding on Saturday, at UAM Tuesday and back home a week from tonight against Henderson State. They close out at Ouachita Baptist in Arkadelphia on Feb. 24.

The Muleriders are fighting to secure a spot in the upcoming GAC Tournament in March, which would be the Muleriders' seventh-straight appearance.

Currently, the Muleriders are in the seventh position and one game behind Arkansas Tech and UAM, who are tied for fifth.

Saturday's opponent, Harding, sits in 11th place in the league standings.

The Muleriders enter play tonight with a 12-11 overall record and 8-9 record in GAC play. The Wonder Boys are 15-8 overall and are 9-8 in league action.

The Wonder Boys have accumulated a 6-5 record on the road, but lost at home in Russellville by four points to the Muleriders back on Jan. 13.

ATU is averaging 86.7 points per game offensively, and allowing 82.3 points per game defensively.

Their points per game scoring ranks first in the GAC while their scoring defense per game ranks 11th in the league.

The Wonder Boys are led in scoring by R.J. Glasper, who is averaging 19.0 points per game and Montrell Williams with an 13.3 points per game average.
