When you watch a loved one with cancer, whose only option for relief is opioids which reek havoc on their system, an alternative which relieves pain, reduces nausea from chemo, and increases appetite to facilitate treatment, seems like a miracle.
The myriad diseases helped by medical marijuana are well documented: Parkinson’s, epilepsy, diabetes, arthritis, diseases of the intestines and colon, PTSD — the list goes on. This brings needed relief to thousands of people who otherwise have few options.
This will be a closely scrutinized, highly regulated industry. For this to be denied and delayed because of the “Reefer Madness” argument shows a lack of understanding of the possibilities. And that’s the real crime.
