Columbia Christian wins regionals, ready to host state basketball tournament

Columbia Christian School captured both boys' and girls' 2018 Arkansas Association of Christian Schools (AACS) Regional Basketball Tournament titles at West Side Christian in El Dorado on Friday and Saturday. CCS will host the AACS State Tournament this week. At 6:40 p.m. Thursday, the Lady Crusaders will compete, followed by Crusaders playing at 8 p.m. In regional action, the Lady Crusaders defeated Garrett Memorial 59-26 and then got past West Side Christian 46-43 in the finals. In the first game Maci McMahen had 20 points and 11 rebounds, followed by 18 points from Brianna Nipper and eight from Heidi May. In the title game, May led with 20 points, Kelcy Lamkin had nine and Madison Williamson finished with eight. For the Crusaders, Ryan McKamie had 16 points and eight rebounds in a 76-40 win over Victory Christian. He was, followed by Taylor Stinnett's 15 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Watkins finished with 13 points and five rebounds. In the 49-46 win in championship game against West Side , Taylor Stinnett paced the Crusaders with 22 points and nine rebounds, while John Mitchell finished with eight points and four steals.
