Lana Downs, 76, of Magnolia, AR passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Wentworth Nursing Home in Magnolia, AR.
Lana was born on September 3, 1942 in Minden, LA to the late James Benard and Dolores (Bryant) Downs. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. She previously worked for Dow Chemical and Columbia County Sherriff Department. For eight years she worked in Alaska for Princess Cruises and most recently she was a caretaker for many families in Columbia County.
Lana was preceded in death by her parents; son Russell Clayton Ainsworth; sisters, Jarvis Breland, Sandy Schattel, Kaye Rockett, and Julie Long; brothers James Bryant Downs. She is survived by her daughters, Donna “Wheaty” Pearce of Dallas, TX and Shelia Reed and husband Pat of Texarkana, AR; son Daniel “Bubba” Pearce and wife Becky of Magnolia, AR; grandson River Reed of Texarkana, AR; step grandson Shawn Triplet; step great grandson Devon Triplet both of Harmony Grove, AR; brother Pat Downs and wife Tammy of Magnolia, AR; sister-in-law Ann Downs; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at the Central Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Mike Seabaugh and Bro. Steve Ford officiating. Burial will follow at the Magnolia City Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Todd Dew, Denny Foster, Jeff Jester, Todd Scott.
