Lady Muleriders fall by 22 to Golden Suns; Williams Baptist College up next for SAU

RUSSELLVILLE - The SAU Women’s Basketball team dropped their final GAC matchup of the calendar year with a 74-52 loss in Russellville to Arkansas Tech. Ariana Guinn was joint-top scorer on the night, tying three Golden Suns with 16 points. The freshman guard shot 7-14 from the field, making one of her three attempts behind the arc. Guinn also added two rebounds, two assists and one steal in 25 minutes of action.

Junior Lena Maledon was the next-highest scoring Mulerider, with nine points in 26 minutes. The French international made both of her three-point attempts.

Freshmen Camryn Fennell and Jerica Bell both scored seven points. Fennell grabbed two rebounds, dished out two assists and recorded one steal. Bell, as well as Brette Wacha, led the team with five rebounds. Wacha also added five points to go with her five boards.

The Muleriders return to action next Wednesday to take on Williams Baptist College at the W. T. Watson Center.
