Leadership Magnolia brainstorms for the future

Samantha Roberson (standing) leads a discussion among Leadership Magnolia-Columbia County alumni Tuesday at the Lifesmart Center in Magnolia. The volunteer group, made up professionals in leadership roles, has for years aided in community projects and raised the funds to do so as part of each “class project.” Currently, the group is prepping to make a bigger splash in the future all while rejuvenating the organization and its new membership through new marketing strategies and more visibility in the county. The nonprofit in recent years has secured funding and installed all new lighting along the Harvey Couch Business Park roadway, as well as multiple other community wellness projects for the area. Some year’s have even seen $20,000, $30,000, or even $50,000-plus raised for a project. Leadership Magnolia-Columbia County also holds regular board meetings and invites any alumni of the nonprofit to attend.
