Ruth Herring Watkins, 93, of Magnolia, AR, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Magnolia Health and Rehabilitation Center in Magnolia, AR.
Ruth was born on September 27, 1924 in Waterloo, AR to the late Herbert and Coy (Atkins) Herring. She was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church in Waldo.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; husband H.I. Watkins; son Mike Watkins; three brothers, Lynn Herring, Macon Herring, and George Herring; four sisters, Virginia Callicott, Myrth Clark, Marcelle Martin, and Margarette Otwell.
She is survived by her children, Carolyn Smelser of Waldo, AR, David Watkins and wife Sheryl of Magnolia, AR, Kathy Byrd and husband Tom of Magnolia, AR, and Linda Ball and husband Donnie of Emerson, AR; sister Drucilla Fairchild of North Little Rock, AR; grandchildren, Josh Watkins and wife Amy of Magnolia, AR, Jeffery Smelser and wife Roxanna of Willisville, AR, Ben Ball and wife Carrie of Magnolia, AR, Marcie Sutterfield and husband Mike of Strong, AR, Terri Diaz and husband Edwin of Las Vegas, NV, Krista Roberts and husband Dale of Miami, FL, Katie May and husband Rodney of Magnolia, AR, Kara Way and husband John of Hot Springs, AR, Jenny Glass and husband David of Texarkana, TX, Jessi Gore and husband Blake of Magnolia, AR, Erin Welch and husband Kyle of Emerson, AR, and Holly Ciurcina and husband Jorge of Emerson, AR, Jodi White and husband Greg of Bryant, AR, and Gracie Watkins of Magnolia, AR; and twenty-two great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 13, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Waldo, AR with Bro. David Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at the Shiloh Cemetery under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. in Magnolia, AR. Visitation will be held Sunday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Josh Watkins, Jeffery Smelser, Ben Ball, Bo Hicks, Mark Callicott, and Danny Herring.
