DUANE CASSIDY

Duane Joseph “Cass” Cassidy, 91, of Magnolia, formerly of Ft. Valley, Ga., passed away following a brief illness on April 5, 2018, at Life Touch Hospice in El Dorado.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret B. Cassidy; father Joseph F. Cassidy; sisters June C. Heller and Helen C. Truffin; and son-in-law Bill B. Hogue Jr.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Lois H. Cassidy; daughter Colleen C. Hogue, son Dan A. Cassidy; grandchildren Larken H. Pennington and husband Richard, Kristen H. Dunn and husband Scott, and Blake H. Hogue and wife Samantha; great-grandchildren Caleb and Addison Hogue, Cassidy, Solo and Magnolia Dunn, and Jacob and Nolan Pennington; and many loving friends and extended family.

A World War II Navy Veteran and proud American, his career was spent in personnel and employee relations in many varied industries, working well in to his 70s. Upon retiring, he continued with his passion for woodworking and doing for and giving to others. He leaves behind a truly proud family who hopes to carry on his legacy.

He gave himself in donation to Genesis Medical Research of Memphis, Tenn., to help others after his death.

Memorials may be given to Columbia County Animal Protection Society, Life Touch Hospice, or a charity of your choice.
