Third suspect arrested in Little Rock concert shooting

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — An inmate in Tennessee is the third person suspected of firing shots in a Little Rock nightclub last year, according to authorities.

The Little Rock Police Department said Thursday that Cordero Kadeem Ragland faces charges in connection with the July 1 shooting at Power Ultra Lounge that left more than two dozen people injured. Online records show Ragland has been held in a Tennessee jail since November on separate charges.

The department said Ragland will be extradited to Little Rock and served with warrants related to five counts of aggravated assault, one count of possession of a firearm and one count of tampering with evidence.

Officer Steve Moore, police spokesman, said Ragland was acting as a bodyguard for Memphis rapper Ricky Hampton, who was performing as “Finese2Tymes” when the shooting occurred.

Hampton faces up to 10 years in prison after he admitted that he possessed a gun at an eastern Arkansas club about a week before the shooting in Little Rock. He wasn’t charged in the shooting.

Kentrell Dominique Gwynn, another bodyguard for Hampton, has been arrested and faces 10 counts of aggravated assault in the Little Rock case. Records show Gwynn told investigators he panicked after hearing gunfire and began shooting at people running toward the club’s stage. But police have said there’s no evidence to suggest anyone was firing at the stage.

Police have also arrested Tyler Clay Jackson, who’s accused of being the initial shooter. Jackson has told police he fired about 10 shots at the club, according to court records.
