Mrs. Roxie Ann “Foxy Roxie” Harris, 97, of Magnolia passed away Saturday, September 9, at her home.
She was born January 14, 1920, in Magnolia to Iverson and Olivie Shelton.
She was a homemaker who loved playing cards, fishing, cooking, and attending church. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in McNeil, where she served on the Mission Board and as Pastor’s Aide.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mattie Lee Calvin and Arrie McKinney; one brother, Andrew Bream; and one daughter, R. Elain Harris.
Survivors include one daughter, Olivia Harris-Threadgill of Magnolia; two sons, Tommie Harris and Jackie Harris, both of Magnolia; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 23, at 2:30 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church in McNeil under the direction of R.L. Reed Funeral Home LLC of Magnolia. Officiating will be Rev. Dale Sanders. Cremation will follow.
Visitation will be Friday, September 22, 12 noon-5 p.m. at the funeral home.
