SUNDAY - Sept. 24

Magnolia Junior Charity League is seeking donations for the 5th annual Undie Sunday event. Please drop off NEW socks, underwear, and undershirts by today in a contribution bin located at various local churches and Serenity Day Spa. This is a wonderful opportunity to help the children of Columbia County. The items will be distributed to all public schools in Columbia County.

TUESDAY - Sept. 26

Greer’s Chapel United Methodist Church will host a Laundry Love Event 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Main Street Laundry, 1109 E. Main in Magnolia. Coins and laundry detergent will be provided for up to 3 normal loads per family. Come by to do your laundry for FREE.

WEDNESDAY - Sept. 27

Families and Children Together Inc. (FACT Inc.) has scheduled a joint meeting of the Board of Directors and Policy Council at 11:30 a.m. at the FACT Inc. central office, 2720 Vine St. in El Dorado. The meeting is open to the public.

C.W. Easter Sr. Memorial Foundation Center, 902 McKissack in Waldo, will sponsor the Annual Banquet Dinner at 6 p.m. Mr. Donnie Coffman, a Waldo School alumnus, will be the guest speaker. John Dan Kemp, chief justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court, will meet with circuit judges, district judges, county judges, members of the Arkansas House and Senate, county and city officials, sheriffs, chiefs of police, quorum court members, city board members, members of the Arkansas Bar, and all interested citizens of the 13th Judicial District. Harvest Regional Food Bank will distribute USDA commodities directly from their truck 10 a.m.-12 noon. The truck will be parked at the C.W. Easter Recreation Center, 902 E. McKissack St. in Waldo. Pantry boxes will be provided to the first 120 qualifying households. Must be a resident of Columbia County and provide photo ID and proof of address.

WEDNESDAY - Nov. 8

The South Arkansas Women’s Network (SAWN) will meet at El Compadre, 2430 N. Dudney in Magnolia, from noon until 1 p.m. Chairman Amy Staten McNeil and Secretary Jennifer Baxley of the South Arkansas Heritage Museum board will present information on local artifacts donated to the museum and answer questions about all aspects of the organization.
