Bernice “Son” McKinney, 91, of Stephens, died Monday, September 4, 2017, at Wentworth Place in Magnolia. He was born December 12, 1925, to Ethel and Rosie Lee Coffeman McKinney.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; three brothers, Ranson, Ezra, and Jimmy McKinney; and two sisters, Vera Craven and Verna Elliott.
He is survived by three daughters, Doris Sydney of Los Angeles, Calif.; Ola M. Early of Avondale, Ariz., and Rose M. Colbert of Litchfield Park, Ariz.; three brothers, Isaac McKinney, Tommy McKinney, and Felton McKinney; one sister, Mattie Moss of Magnolia; several grand- and great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be Saturday, September 16, at 11 a.m. at Kendrick Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Willie Flowers officiating under the direction of Marks Funeral Home of Magnolia. Interment will follow in Kendrick Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, September 15, between the hours of 11:30 a.m. and 4:30pm at Marks Funeral Home in Magnolia.
