Muleriders shut down Royals

They used a dominating second-half to roll past the Ecclesia College Royals 88-59 during their home opener Monday night at the W.T. Watson Center. In the second-half alone, SAU held Ecclesia College to only 21 percent shooting from the field and allowed them only seven points during the first 16 minutes. The Muleriders (2-3) were led by Keeton Tennison with 17 points,while KJ Collins had 12 and Aaron Lucas finished with 11. CJ Elkins had nine and Draylan Perkins provided eight. Charlie Thomas led in rebounds with 11. For the Royals, DQ Bagsby led with 23 points, followed by 16 from JR Rairez. The two combined for 10 three-pointers. The Muleriders will be back on their home court next Monday when they host Baptist Bible College in a 7 p.m. game. They return to GAC play on Nov. 30 when they host East Central University.
