Diamonds of Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas and the Boy Scouts of America, Caddo Area Council will come together at Scout-O-Rama for a weekend of camping, games and fun on April 21 at Spring Lake Park in Texarkana, Texas. Girl Scouts have the option of camping over the weekend or attending during the day on Saturday, April 22.
Scouts will be at the park all weekend and on Saturday, April 22, the public is invited to come learn more about Scouting and join the fun from 10:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. Girl Scouts, Boy Scout Troops, Venture Crews, Sea Scouts, Webelos, Cub Scout Dens and more, travel from all over the four states area for this regional Scout show and love to show off the skills they have learned through Scouting. There will be a Build-A-Patch Swap Activity where Scouts can collect patches from neighboring councils!
Come hungry and bring $5 to purchase a chili bowl and sample some of the best chili in the Ark-La-Tex during the 2nd annual International Chili Society sanctioned chili cook-off. Chili will be served 12-3 p.m.
Saturday’s activities will include:
Hot Air Balloon rides, live 1800s era cannon fire, fireworks after dark, pinewood derby racing, fishing, car derby racing, ICS sanctioned chili cook-off, static displays of military vehicles, scout crafts, tomahawk throwing, Scout About 5K/FunRun (NEW), Native American dancing, cowboy shootout reenactors, pre-1840s camping demonstrations, blacksmithing, bladesmithing, canoeing, food vendors
Come experience the exciting events and activities Scout-O-Rama has to offer! Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to register for this event by April 14. Girls and adults are requested to register to camp, order patches, and for Saturday-only attendance. There is no attendance or camping fee.
