Stafff Report
Magnolia host the 8th grade Cubs Relays Monday afternoon at Mulerider Track Complex on the Southern Arkansas University campus.
Ten teams participated, which include El Dorado Barton, Camden Fairview, Claiborne Academy, Crossett, Emerson, Glenbrook, Lafayette County, Magnolia, Smackover and Strong.
Several Magnolia Cubs and Lady Cubs, as well as Pirates and Jr. Lady Pirates performed well in the event.
Following is how athletes from Magnolia and Emerson fared in individual events:
Cubs
• High jump - Robert Mack, fourth, 5-0; Treston Johnson, tie for fourth, 4-8 1/2.
• Pole vault - Tanner Nielsen, first, 7-0; Austin Watson, third, 6-0.
• Long jump - James Smith, third, 17-2; Mack, fourth, 16-11.
• Triple jump - Mack, fifth, 33-6; Johnson, 10th, 29-2.
• Discus - Malachi Copeland, first, 124-1; JaKamren Zachary, fourth, 90-3.
