SAU sophomore Sinclair Pitts of Magnolia took first place in the hammer throw at the Dan Veach Invitational at the Mulerider Track Complex on Saturday. It was the first collegiate meet on the campus in 12 years. Pitts' winning throw covered 155 feet, 4 inches. Pitts was one of eight individuals and two relay teams to claim top honors in the meet. The Muleriders will return to action in two weeks at the Skecher's Carl Kight Invitational hosted by Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, Texas. The meet will take place on Friday, April 7, and Saturday, April 8.
