For the second week in a row, Southern Arkansas women's track and field has had an athlete claim the Great American Conference's Field Athlete of the Week.

The award was announced on Wednesday afternoon that T'Keyah Crockett earned the weekly honor after a record-setting performance last weekend at the Louisiana Classics.

The junior from Magnolia set the program record in the discus event with a throw of 131 feet, 2 inches, which resulted in a sixth-place finish.

It bested the previous school record mark by two feet, four inches.

The previous mark of 128 feet, 8 inches had stood for 16 years and was set by Angelio Munson in 2001.

Crockett also placed 16th in the hammer throw with a final toss of 119 feet, 1 inch.

The Lady Muleriders are tuning up for the first collegiate track meet in Magnolia in over a dozen years when they host the Dan Veach Invitational on Saturday at the newly-complete Mulerider Track Complex.
