Goad is Player of the Week

Southern Arkansas junior outfielder Brooke Goad has been named as the GAC Player of the Week as it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Goad, a native of Waxahachie, Texas, earns her first weekly conference award of the season and second in her career while also becoming the fourth different Lady Mulerider to achieve the honor as well.

In earning the nod, Goad was outstanding at the plate as the redshirt junior hit .714 (5-for-7), with all five hits going for extra bases before leaving the top of the 4th inning of game two on Friday with an injury.

Prior to that, Goad totaled 12 bases as she raked four doubles and a home run in a 1.714 slugging effort. Goad also walked once and produced an on-base percentage of .750, while tallying two RBI and a pair of runs scored.

The Lady Muleriders return to their home field this weekend for a GAC series against Northwestern Oklahoma State University.

The first doubleheader is slated for 4 p.m. on Friday at Dawson Field.
