NOVALENE HENRY

Novalene Henry, 88, of Overland Park, Kan., passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017, surrounded by family and friends.

Novalene was born on September 21, 1928, in Village and was a resident of Magnolia for many years. She was a longtime employee of W. Shanhouse and Sons. She joined Central Baptist Church in Magnolia as a young adult and served there until she moved to Kansas City in 2013.

Novalene was a gifted cook and homemaker. She loved sharing her cooking and gardening expertise with others and could often be found delivering her famous homemade bread and chocolate cake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Gussie and Audney Barron; and brothers, Jimmie Dale Barron and Edward Hunter.

She is survived by her husband, Clifton Henry of Overland Park, Kan.; daughters, Melisa (Wayne) Suggs of Athens, Ga. and Melinda (Joe) Brunker of Lenexa, Kan.; grandchildren, Bradley (Kristen) Pennington, Evan (Kate) Pennington, Ethan Pennington, Emily Suggs, and Lauren Suggs; and two great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, July 22, 2017 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Randy Click officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home Inc. of Magnolia.

Visitation will be 9:30-10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 22, at Lewis Funeral Home.
