The Muleriders and Wonder Boys will kick off the 2017 campaign in just over a month on Aug. 31 in Russellville. SAU, predicted to have one of its deepest teams in history, has been picked to win the 2017 GAC title. The Muleriders fell just shy of an NCAA Division II playoff berth last season, but competed in the annual Live United Bowl in Texarkana. Hudson will be one of three top GAC receivers coming back this season. He, along with classmate Jonathan Weisheit and junior Karonce Higgins, combined for more than 2,100 receiving yards a year ago.
