AHS coach charged

ARKADELPHIA — The Arkadelphia High School girls basketball coach has been charged with DWI for a second time, according to a Little Rock Television station. KATV Channel 7 said Coach Robert Lynn Rook, who is also a counselor at AHS, was arrested Saturday night around 11 p.m. on I-30 in Clark County.

Channel 7 obtained the citation given to Rook, which also includes charges of driving left of center, improper lane change/usage, and fail to yield to emergency vehicle.

Arkansas State Police would not provide Channel 7 with Rook's arrest report.

In 2015, Rook was also charged with DWI in Hot Spring County, then convicted in 2016. Arkadelphia Superintendent Dr. Donnie Witten, sent Channel 7 the following statement:

"The District is currently gathering and reviewing documentation related to the arrest. We will follow state law and district policy as we make a decision on how to move forward."
