Dolphins make another splash

The Magnolia Dolphin Swim Team hosted its final home meet of the 2017 South Arkansas Swim Association (SASA) season on July 15. Swimmers from Hope, Camden De Queen and Mena also participated. Magnolia summer-only swimmers placed first and the local year-round swimmers finished second. Dolphins placing first, second or third in all of their individual events were Adelynn Bond, Addison Boyd, Connor DeLoach, Carwin Edwards, Cantley Gosdin, Owen Green, Aaron Hartsfield, Drew Mickey, Ashlyn Middleton, JD Oldham, Gillyan Pacheco, Amya Reeves, Logan Riley, Sophia Riley , Hayden Rogers, Brenna Warrick, Connor Waters, Trystan Westfall, Ella Williams, Isaiah Williams, Liz Wilson, and Kenny Zhao. Dolphins placing first in all of their events included Caroline Daniel, Sophie Ellington, Olivia Ferguson, Andrew Layton, Bailey McCook, Makynzie Powell, Carter Pyle, Kate Sawyer, and Landon Sawyer. The SASA championship meet is set for Friday and Saturday in El Dorado. Magnolia will have seven swimmers traveling to the Junior Olympics in Detroit, MI, this summer, They are (front row from left) Cantley Gosdin, Owen Green, Liz Wilson (back from left) David Cheng, Bailey McCook, Carter Pyle and Rile McCook. The seven local swimmers will be part of Team Arkansas on July 27-30.
