Karen Beck, 73, of Waldo, went to be with our Lord, to walk and work in His garden Sunday, July 16, 2017. She was surrounded by her family and those who loved her most.
She was born June 8, 1944, in Richwood, W.Va., to Orville William Cogar and Thelma Lee (Bashaw) Cogar. She was a longtime resident of Magnolia where she lived life to the fullest, befriended many who came in contact with her, and loved sharing her flowers and plants.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Bernice Randall Cogar.
She is survived by her partner, Bobby Allen; sons, Jerry Beck and Todd Beck and his wife Melanie; grandchildren, Zachary Ty Beck and United States Marine PFC Mikala Nicole Beck; brothers, William “Bill” Cogar and wife Maureen, John Cogar and wife Patricia; sister, Christina Roberts and husband Rodney; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Mike Launius officiating under the direction of Lewis Funeral Home Inc. in Magnolia.
Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Beck, Todd Beck, Jonathan Cogar, Jared Cogar, Robby Allen, and Michael Allen.
