Emerson will host the Class 1A Region 5 Tournament for boys (top bracket) and girls (bottom bracket) Wednesday through Saturday. The Taylor Tigers are scheduled to play at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday against Dermott, while the Emerson Pirates won't take the court until 5:30 p.m. Thursday against Hampton. The Emerson Lady Pirates will play at 7 p.m. Thursday against Strong. Nevada boys will play at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday against Strong, while the Lady Blue Jays will play at 4 p.m. Thursday against Hermitage. The top four teams from regional will advance to next week's Class 1A State Tournament at Mt. Ida.
