The Sickle Cell Support group of Magnolia will host an informational meeting with the staff of the UAMS Adult Sickle Cell Clinic from Little Rock at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the Henderson Fellowship Cottage, 607 Renfroe St. Everyone is invited and encouraged to attend. McDonald’s in Magnolia is participating in a Christmas Toy Drive to benefit families staying at the Ronald McDonald House in Little Rock. For every new, unwrapped toy or baby item brought in to the restaurant, a Happy Meal will be given FREE of charge to the donor. Just check in with the manager to receive the free meal(s).

The Columbia County Branch of the NAACP will hold their Freedom Fund Banquet at 6 p.m. at the Southview Church of Christ Activity Building, 234 Fairview in Magnolia. The speaker will be author and former police officer Rod Demery, who stars in the television series “Murder Chose Me” on Investigation Discovery. Tickets are $30.
