SAU currently holding fourth in league's all-sports standings

RUSSELLVILLE – For the sixth-straight year, Harding has taken the lead in the Great American Conference All-Sports Standings following the fall sports seasons. The Bisons and Lady Bisons totaled 40.5 points to lead the 11 eligible GAC schools.

Harding received the full 11 points for after completing an undefeated regular season in football and added 10.5 points after tying Ouachita for the volleyball title. The cross country teams each took second to pick up a combined 15 points.

Like last year, Southwestern Oklahoma State closed the fall in second place. The women’s soccer team won their third regular-season title; women’s cross country finished a program-best third and volleyball earned seven points. Ouachita, seventh following the fall of 2015, moved up to third this year by tying Harding for volleyball title and taking second in soccer.

Southern Arkansas took fourth, one point ahead of both East Central and Southern Nazarene. SAU finished second in football. East Central swept the titles at the Cross Country Championships. SNU best result came in volleyball, where it tied for third.

Arkansas Tech, the five-time winner of the All-Sports Trophy closed the fall in a tie for seventh place with Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Golden Suns tied for third in volleyball while the Savage Storm took fourth in women’s cross country and tied for fourth in football.

Henderson State came in ninth, one point in back of Arkansas Tech and Southeastern Oklahoma State. The Reddies earned a program-best 5.5 points in volleyball in addition to their third-place finish in football. Arkansas-Monticello placed 10th, followed by Northwestern Oklahoma State.
