National honor for Bryant

ST. LOUIS, Mo. – SAU senior forward Rosa Bryant has been named the United States Basketball Writers Association (USBWA) Women's Division II National Basketball Player of the Week for the week ending November 22 for her performances last week as announced by the USBWA earlier this week. She becomes the first Lady Mulerider to receive the award in the program's 20-year membership at the NCAA Division II level.

Bryant recorded three 20-plus point games, all on the road, and posted a pair of double-doubles last week in helping the Muleriders to a 3-0 week and their best start to a season since 2004-05.

The Bastrop, Louisiana, native averaged 21.3 points on 55.8 percent shooting and collected 15.3 rebounds per game, including 18 or more rebounds twice.

The Lady Muleriders will take to the court again for their home opener on Dec. 3 for a GAC matchup with Northwestern Oklahoma State at 5:30 p.m.
