Ronnie Watson and Keith of Magnolia, along with Randy Watson of Calhoun and Tooter Tucker were lunch guests of Herman and Martha Watson on Saturday. They deer hunted down there. I didn’t ask if any of them got a deer or not.

Mary Hollensworth and Cora of Benton spent the weekend with her parents, Louis and Eveann George. They will return home Tuesday.

Louis and Eveann George, Mary and Cora Hollensworth of Benton, and Jonathan George of Dumas City, ate supper at Homer Seafood, Saturday night. Jonathan went back home after they all ate.

Pastor Barbara Lewis’ sermon at Emerson UM Church was “The Dangerous Truth” with scripture from John 18:28-40. Jesus was to be crucified. Truth is the life giving love of God. His whole identity was as God’s Son. Disclosure of God’s truth truth to us is John 3:16 which says, for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. The woman at the well witnessed to everyone about Jesus after he talked to her. She told the people that Jesus told her everything she’d ever done. I’m here to tell you that your king was stabbed in the foot…and the hand, and the side and the head and that was part of the ritual. And, you and I are the ones who held the staff. I ask you, Will you beg the King’s forgiveness?

We will hold our Christmas Pot Luck Supper on Wednesday, Dec. 2nd at 6 p.m. Come join us for fellowship and a great meal.
