Annual Bark at the Park event is set for Saturday at SAU athletic games

SAU Sports Information

The Southern Arkansas athletic department is pleased to announce that “Bark at the Park/Community” Day is back for its third-straight year. SAU athletics is also happy to announce that this year’s fan-favorite promotion will be a joint effort between the SAU baseball and softball teams as both will be home on Saturday, March 28. The full day of action is slated to begin with softball at noon as they are hosting Southeastern Oklahoma for a doubleheader at Lady Mulerider Field. Two hours later will see the first-pitch of a SAU baseball doubleheader against Harding at Walker Stadium at Goodheart Field.

With it being Community Day, all fans will get into both baseball and softball with free admission, but with it also being Bark at the Park Day, fans that wish to bring their pets to either facility will be charged $10 admission per pet.

All money collected through this admission will be donated to the Columbia County Animal Protection Society (C.C.A.P.S.). Additionally, all pets will be required to be on a leash at all times.

As in year’s past, fans who do not bring a pet may still donate to the cause by either bringing animal goods (food, leashes, collars, toys, etc.) or making a cash donation. Additionally, each time either the Muleriders or Lady Muleriders score on their respective fields, a bucket for loose change will be passed around as well.
