The SAU Well No. 1 is illuminated Saturday night as traffic streaks past on U.S. 82. Sewell Drilling Co. was the contractor; the well was located on the campus of Southern Arkansas University and the operator was Betsy Production Co. of Magnolia. The well was operating Saturday night and completed work Sunday. It was drilled to a depth of 4,650 feet in the Petit Zone.
