Stores obtain alcohol permits

In top photo, Tracy and Tammy Johnson, owners of Village One Stop, display the permits for on-and-off premises alcohol sales Thursday afternoon in the bar area of their restaurant. Tammy Johnson said the restaurant will sell draft beer tonight. The Johnsons drove to Little Rock Thursday to pick up their permits from the state Alcoholic Beverage Control division, which granted permits to four Columbia County businesses Wednesday. In bottom left photo, Jay Elliott shows off the first six-pack of beer sold at Magnolia Travel Center. In bottom right photo, Travel Center owners Rusty and Paula McFalls display their permit. EZMart in Waldo and Magnolia Walmart also were granted permits to sell beer and wine this week.
