Mourners fill the bleachers at SAU's Wilkins Stadium Sunday night during a candlelight vigil for Muleriders senior wide receiver, Brandon T. Hobdy and Wayne A. Payton, who were shot and killed Sunday morning in an off-campus incident. Payton was a former SAU student. SAU President Dr. David Rankin; SAU Police Chief Anthony Williams; Magnolia Police Chief Glenn O. Maxwell; SAU Athletic Director Steve Browning and SAU Muleriders Head Coach Bill Keopple spoke to the crowd about the importance of honoring Hobdy and supporting one another in the aftermath of the tragedy. Maxwell said law enforcement agencies are working to make an arrest.
